I first learnt about the Techpixies from their social media presence -as you might expect from an award winning social enterprise upskilling women in social media skills! I then discovered a friend had been on one of the first cohorts and spoke with a new found enthusiasm and vision. I realised very quickly that the women on this course were the women I’d gain so much joy and pleasure and reward from coaching.
The women come from all walks of life and with various career backgrounds but they share a few things. The desire to learn new skills, to be part of a community, build confidence and self-worth and open up the door to a new or different future.
Like many of my clients they didn’t necessarily know what the future held. They were in search of the answer to the What Next question? Some had a business idea or had already started a business. But for most it was the first step forward (into the unknown).
Career or life coaching is an emotional journey of self-discovery. I know. I have been there myself. I too decided to change my life. Perhaps from the outside it seems fortunate that I knew I wanted to be a coach. The reality is that for two years prior to starting my coaching career I went to work miserable, frustrated, angry, disappointed and feeling helpless. I did not wake up one day having had an epiphany.
How did I answer my What Next question?
I engaged a coach who I knew I could trust. Someone who understood my challenges and gave me the space to talk about my hopes and fears. I shared my deepest beliefs about myself and what I couldn’t do. I cried when it felt painful but laughed at the realisations I had about how I was holding myself back.
The coaching journey
It can be bumpy! It can be frustrating but coaching is like peeling an onion and stripping away the layers. It raises awareness about what you want and need from purposeful and valuable work. It helps to show your strengths and achievements to boost your confidence and self worth. It creates building blocks which form the foundations for your new future.
How I can coach you
During a coaching programme we would meet 6 times over a period of about 3 months. Our sessions will leave you with clarity and understanding as well as clear steps to move you closer to achieving your personal and professional goals. This safe space will be the starting point for your journey.
I would love to chat to you in more detail about how I can help you. Call me on 07810 205781 or email lucy@lucytullochcoaching.co.uk
