My story
Throughout my career I have managed teams. Some of these experiences have been highly rewarding and others sucked the energy from me.
Shortly after having my second child I realised something wasn’t right at work. My confidence was very low and was impacting on how I showed up at work. I recognise myself as highly driven yet I was easily frustrated, distracted and lacking in motivation. The feeling of overwhelm and anxiety got progressively worse. I didn’t fully understand what was going on so I didn’t know how to fix it.
Then I started working with a coach. It felt like a big investment. But very quickly I understood that my personal values were not being met at work. This was why I was feeling “out of sorts” and “unsettled”. Together we focussed on how and what I could change to make me feel like the professional, highly capable person that I was! This resulted in going back to university and changing my career.
Whilst studying for my Post Graduate qualification it became clear that in the past training courses gave me skills but failed to address underlying issues such as imposter syndrome. This belief I had that someone would rumble me and know I wasn’t as capable as I thought I was. This was limiting my potential and holding me back professionally and personally.
I am confident that if I’d had coaching earlier in my career my performance would have been consistently stronger and the companies I worked for would have had better results. I also believe my leadership and management style would have been much more effective.
I am extremely proud to be a PCC accredited coach with the International Coach Federation. This is only awarded after completing a minimum of 500 hours of coaching in addition to completing an entire ICF training programme. The ICF has taken the lead in developing a definition and philosophy of coaching and establishing ethical standards among its members.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
I have specific training in the following areas: High Performance Coaching, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for Coaches, Team & Group Coaching, Grief, Loss and Uncertainty.
I believe that we can all make an incredible difference in this world. I’d love to help you get started. Get in touch to have an initial no obligation conversation.
